Review: AudioGenerator
AudioGenerator was the first audio service that I heard about, so it was the one that I decided to try about a year ago. In my opinion, it's probably the easiest way to get audio on your website or into your emails... Once you sign up, you are given an 800 number to call to record your messages, plus you have several other options to record your messages as well. Once you record your message, it just takes seconds to appear in your account and you can begin publishing it instantly.
It took me less than about 12 minutes from signup to publishing a page with the recorded message... and that's really quick I believe.
AudioGenerator works as a monthly subscription service that costs $29.95 per month... or roughly a dollar a day. Personally, I think the price is pretty reasonable considering that you can have as many messages as you want on an unlimited number of websites or emails, and that they are hosted on the AudioGenerator server for you.
The ease and quickness of using the AudioGenerator system made the price worth it for me.
Besides... they now offer a $1 trial to check out their service for 7 full days.
There is one thing about it that did irritate me in the beginning however. Remember I said above that they give you an 800 number to record your messages? Well, I guess I didn't read the fine print until after I signed up... because AudioGenerator charges you 14.9¢ per minute to use the equipment which is recording your voice at the other end of the toll free 800 number.
In my case, the per minute charge isn't that big of a deal at all. Only my customers use the 800 number to record less than 10 minutes of messages per month, which works out to less than two dollars. No problem at all. Besides, you don't have to use the 800 number to record your messages.

Record your message: You have several choices for recording your messages. You can use the 800 number that they give you, pay to have one of their recommended professionals record your message and upload it for you, upload an MP3 file through the browser into your account, or record by microphone. There are complete instructions for how to use each method and it's very easy. There are also several pre-recorded messages that you can use as well.

Publish your message: Once your message appears in your account, you choose a format to publish it in. Your choices are: audio for a webpage, audio postcard, audio for eBay, audio for email, and audio for a secure order pages. Once you make a choice, AudioGenerator will either give you some formatting options (for the play buttons and colors) or it will give you the HTML code for the audio message.

Cut and paste the HTML: All you have to do is copy the HTML code that AudioGenerator produces and paste it into your webpages, emails or eBay listings.
That's all!
It is unbelievably simple, comes with lots of options to match your website or advertising campaign, and integrates seamlessly... I think it's great!
This is the part that gets me really excited... thinking of all the different ways that you can use AudioGenerator in your business.

The service works on all browsers, regardless of dialup speed, it's very simple to use,
it has a lot of practical uses, and it is very customizable to fit your needs.
I know people who tried other audio services and software like Sonic Memo,
only to be disappointed with the difficulty in setting it up or the limitations of the software itself.
In my opinion, it's worth a little extra money to have a service
that handles all the integration work for you
so all you have to do is to concentrate on the most effective ways to use audio.

without having to tweak it to make it work or upload any audio files.
