Hi,
I'm extensively looking for a mailing list manager which would work similar to the mailing list features at Yahoo.com, but run on our own Linux/Apache-Server with the features: PHP4/MYSQL/PERL/cronjob/sendmail/500 pop3.
I don't have root access as it is administered by the provider in standard ways, though I can administer cronjobs/databases/pop's by webinterfaces and can log in as a certain user by ssh/ftp.

Features I would need, are:
o) In addition to e-mails started by a web form, also incoming e-mails with all their content incl. attachments shall be forwarded to all subscribers of a list (sorry, I don't know how such a feature is called in the world of mailinglists).
o) Each list has to have an individual incoming e-mail address (POP administerable) like at Yahoo.com to make it more easy for the subscriber also to send an e-mail to the list.
o) Moderation feature would be nice.
o) Am I looking in the right category for such a communication tool: mailing list manager, not e-mail based newsgroup manager?
o) Could you also answer to my e-mail address? Thanks a lot.

Best Regards,
Christian Meilinger.

Hi Christian,

It sounds like what you are looking for is a safelist script. Subscribers of a safelist agree to receive emails from all other subscribers of a safelist.

So, you features you would like (and that are not part of Add2it Mailman Pro) are:

1. Subscribers should be able to not only use a web interface to send messages to all other subscribers, but also to send their message via email and the script should then forward it completely like they arrive to all other subscribers, right?

2. Each list should have a forwarding email address like e.g. sendto-list@yourdomain.com

3. Option to let incomming messages remain in a queue until a admin / moderator confirms them.

If you are interested in hiring me for a custom programming job, please take a loot at:

The mailing list manager category is ok... the sub-category would be safelist scripts.

I also will email you a copy of this posting.
Sincerely,

Frank Bauer
